Citric acid cycle

Citric acid cycle is also known as tricarboxylic acid cycle (TCA cycle) and the Krebs cycle. it is a series of enzyme-catalysed chemical reactions, which have central importance in all living cells that use oxygen as part of cellular respiration.
In eukaryotic cells, the citric acid cycle occurs in the matrix of the mitochondrion,
In aerobic organisms, It is part of a metabolic pathway involved in the chemicaly conversion of carbohydrates, fats and proteins into carbon dioxide and water to generate a form of usable energy ATP and NADH. Befor this reaction Glycolysis And Pyruvate Oxidation Both reactions take place And after it Oxidative phosphorylation take place

Glycolysis

Glycolysis is a metabolic pathway in which Glucose convert into pyruvate.

The free energy release in this process is use to form highly energy rich compounds 4 ATP and NADH

carbohydrate is an organic compound with the general formula Cn(H2O)n, that is, consists only of carbon, hydrogen and oxygen, with the last two in the 2:1 atom ratio.
Classification of Carbohydrates,

  • Monosaccharides. = it is a simple suger with multiple OH group.Based on number of carbon (3,4,5,6) a monosaccharide is a triose, tetrose.pentose and hexose,

  • Disaccharides. = 2 monosaccharide covalently linked,

  • Oligosaccharides. = Few monosaccharides covalently linked,

  • polysaccharides. = Consists of chain of monosaccharides or disaccharides with covalently linked,

Molecular Biology

Molecular biology is the study of biology (study of living organisms) at a molecular level. This field cover the areas of biology and chemistry, e.g genetics and biochemistry. Molecular biology is understanding of the interactions between the various systems of a cell, including the interactions between DNA, RNA and protein biosynthesis as well as learning how these interactions are regulated.

Biochemistry

Biochemistry is a branch of science which deal with the study of chemical compounds and chemical reactions that take place in the living organisms
